The e-Signature Law, issued in 2004, supports Egyptís e-commerce industry by securing the internet as a legally viable medium for online financial activities, meaning that a buyer does not need to physically sign a document when entering into a transaction online.
ITIDA, as a supervisory body for electronic signature, operates the following:
1- E-Signature Licenses Department
2- E-Signature Competence Center
3- The Egyptian Root
In 2011, ITIDA announced the launch of the e-Signature competence center to offer related to building infrastructure centers for e-signature and related applications locally and regionally.
