TIEC introduced Fabrication Catalyst (FabCat) Service to support growth in the electronics industry. The service enables fabrication of electronic chips designed by Egyptian micro and small enterprises and by academic university projects. The program supports the fabrication in either CMOS or MEMS technologies.
The FabCat service is announced in semi-annual rounds during February and August. In each round, TIEC announces the service for funding the fabrication of electronics design using CMOS/MEMS technologies for both Industry and Academia. Service beneficiaries are micro and small enterprises working in VLSI design to provide them with a better opportunity to showcase their products in the market; and Egyptian governmental universities with electronics programs to encourage student to consider establishing their own business and applying for incubation programs.
