    ITIDA Grants e-Signature Operation Permission For Two e-Signature Service Providers

    Within the framework of efforts exerted to spread electronic signature services in all fields for individuals and institutions, Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) granted Misr for Central Clearing, Depository, and Registry and Egypt Trust operation permissions according to Electronic Signature Law (Law No. 15 of 2004) and its regulations, according to Ministerial Decree No. 109 of 2005.

    Three licensed e-signature providers have been awarded ISO 27001 last  year for securing Information technology system, and also SNS was granted the permission to start in September 2009.

    The E-Signature Law issued in 2004 supports Egyptís e-commerce industry by securing the Internet as a legally viable medium for online financial activities. It also supports governmental, commercial, and/or administrative transactions electronically, which helps e-Commerce and providing better governmental services.

    It is also worth mentioning that till the issuance of this law, electronic signature was not legally authentic.
