    Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif inaugurates New Projects in the Fields of ICT in Beni Suef

    Accompanied by Dr. Tarek Kamel, minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Ahmed Darwish, minister of Administrative Development, Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr, minister of Education, and Dr. Samir Saif Yazal, Governor of Beni Suef, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif inaugurated a number of new projects in the fields of CIT.

    Among these are projects targeting the improvement of educational services where Dr. Nazif surveyed the Smart School Project established in Al-Shorouk Experimental School located to the east of the River Nile and examined the technological quarters of the school including the labs and the library. During the visit, a presentation of the technological achievements in  Beni Suef was given.

    Such inaugurations come within the framework of the Smart Schools Network Project established in the preparatory  experimental schools and undertaken by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The strategic objective of this project is to introduce modern methods of teaching and learning, using ICT to learn how to use computers, and learning through computers.

    Objectives of the Project
    § Preparing teachers and administrators to learn IT, and communications through a standardized internationally accepted curriculum using computers.
    § Improving teaching and learning methods using computers as a means to learn school subjects.
    § Improving the conditions of educational management and raising the efficiency of administrative performance by means of training teachers and administrators on how to use modern technology.
    § Transforming schools into a productive unit and a community learning center where all sorts of technological potentials are utilized to serve the society in the fields of ICT.
    § Providing ICT services in a manner which meets the educational objectives in schools and the society around them.

    The technological infrastructure provided in schools:

    Devices and equipment as follows:
    A. Establishing two computer labs in a network environment (21 computers in each lab).
    B. Providing the library with 3 computers along with earphones for its visitors.
    § Equipping two classrooms with the following:
    § Two portable computers
    § Two projectors along with their movable screens
    § Two trolleys to move devices and protect them
    § Equipping one teachers room with 3 computers and one administrators' room with 3 computers (operating within Wi-Fi range).
    § Working in a network environment connected to the internet through cables running in labs and Wi-Fi in the library, classrooms, and the administration offices of the school.

    Training:
    § General training: Targets training employees (teachers and administrators) at school on IT and ICT for all the school staff as well as obtaining the ICDL certificates.
    § Special training for technicians: Includes training on maintenance of devices and equipment, operating networks, running databases, and qualifying high-performers in terms of undertaking school training tasks (i.e. Train the Trainers) along with (On-The-Job Training) for qualified calibers on IT specialist tasks.
    § Training teachers on the use of multimedia in terms of preparing educational content.
    § Training managers on School Management System (SMS).

    Activating the systems and applications available at school, namely:
    § The School Management System which enables:
    § Building school databases (Students' affairs, personnel affairs, educational affairs including class schedules, exam schedules, and exam results).
    § Building the library database.
    § Extracting reports from applications.
    § E-learning management system (LMS) from Mubarak City of Education in 6th Of October
