    MCIT @ the Smart Village

    Date published: 13 January 2005

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) moved its headquarters to the Smart Village. The Ministerís office together with MCIT departments have moved their offices as well.

Upon completion of all the phases of the Smart Village, there will be 58 office plots, accommodating approximately 30,000 employees within a total office area of 1,336,000 square meters.

The Smart Village incorporates all the amenities needed by its prospective staff and visitors. It also gives the opportunity for any firm operating in the IT sector to rent, lease or buy office space. Firms can also buy land and build their own offices abiding by the same architectural standards of the Village.

Building great monuments in Egypt is not a thing of the past. An extraordinary example of Egyptís high tech infrastructure, economic incentive packages and commitment to the future is the 300 - acres Smart Village project that provides a high tech environment for IT and telecommunications companies.
