SECC Enrolls Two Universities in ISTQB Certifications Program

    Date published: 19 February 2013

The universities of Alexandria and Banha have enrolled to the ISTQB Certification program offered by the Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) in early February 2013.

This step comes in light of the service provision agreement signed between the Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) and the Central Unit of IT Training attached to the Supreme Council of Universities (CUIT-SCU) ) on 25 December 2012, to certify a minimum of 500 university students to the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL).

This agreement comes as part of the efforts of the Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) affiliated to the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) to bridge the gap between education and the industry of information technology through training students on internationally recognized standards to become qualified professionals.

The ISTQB is the most renowned scheme for certifying software testers; and SECC is the sole Examination Institute/Certification Body for the ISTQB certificates in Egypt.

The ISTQB Project is actually in full swing and making progress towards its ultimate objective.

Since January 2013, 8 National Universities from 7 different Governorates (Cairo, Ain Shams, Zagazig, El Minia, El Fayoum, El Munofia, El Mansoura & Assiut) have joined the Project.

The 8 Universities have successfully finalized the ISTQB Foundation Training. Alexandria and Banha Universities are currently undertaking the training service, and will be passing the examination by beginning of March 2013.
