    Premier Witnesses Signing Cooperation Protocol on Developing Databases Systems

    The Prime Minister and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouly has witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), on the development of systems that allow communication between the main databases of the beneficiaries and service providers of the government subsidies.

    The protocol is within the framework of the national project of digital transformation, in cooperation with all sectors of the State, which seeks to transform the society into an ICT-based society in all aspects of life. The project aims to transform all government services into digital ones that can be provided at any time and place; use revised data in creating analyzes and extracting indicators necessary to manage the Stateís resources; and to establish the principles of justice and community transparency. This is in addition to ensuring the provision of services to citizens and target groups and ensuring delivery of service to those who deserve it according to accurate data available in national databases.

    The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Moselhi said that according to the cooperation protocol, the national databases that have been approved and made available to government agencies will be used to upgrade the system of services provided to citizens, which in turn will enable the Ministry of Supply to increase the ability to provide various supply services and deliver subsidies to those who deserve them. He also added that the system will also enable the Ministry of Supply to shift to monetary subsidy, according to citizensí desire, where a system will be created to allow citizens exchange the remaining of the in-kind subsidy for cash via post offices nationwide.

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat said that the protocol entails developing the communication systems between the main databases of the beneficiaries and service providers of the government subsidies, monitoring the interaction on the technological system, and providing and developing applications and communication channels between the main databases of beneficiaries and service providers of the government subsidies to increase the efficiency of performance and accuracy of data.
