    NASA Space Apps Cairo 2018 Kicks off

    The Space Apps Cairo 2018, part of NASA Space Apps Challenge, is organized by IEEE Egypt Section, part of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)— the world’s largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity—hosted at Nile University, Sheikh Zayed, on October 19-20. The event is sponsored by the US Embassy- Cairo, organized in partnership with Egypt Innovate— affiliated to the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC)— Nile Preneurs, Nile Egyptian Schools and other partners.

    Space Apps Cairo is proud to host its local hackathon for the fourth year in a row. Since 2015, it has ranked amongst the most successful city hackathons worldwide, having the largest number of registered applicants globally, producing the largest number of solutions and being the largest event led by women organizers.

    Started in 2012, NASA Space Apps Challenge has become the world’s largest global hackathon, engaging thousands of citizens each year across the globe in a 48-hour global hackathon to work with NASA in building innovative solutions for challenges using open source data.
