During GITEX 2018, Sutherland, ITIDA Sign MoU to Expand Business in Egypt

    Date published: 18 October 2018

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sutherland Global Services, a global leading company in outsourcing, during the third day of GITEX Dubai 2018. Following the signing of the agreement, ITIDA announced that Sutherland will double its business in Egypt, adding 750 jobs specialized in the field of ICT.

According to the MoU, Sutherland will add more than 750 full-time jobs to its Alexandria headquarters, which opened in 2010 and provides a complete package of customer services and technical support to its customers in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and North America. Sutherland targets opening a new centre in Cairo as well.

The MoU is in line with Sutherland plan to expand its business in the Egyptian market and to attract new customers from the Middle East and Africa region and international companies through developing a list of services to be provided to its customers in the region, via Egyptian calibres specialized in ICT fields.

Sutherland expansion plan comes in conjunction with a series of expansion plans of a group of international companies operating in Egypt, through which 3500 jobs have been provided in different technical disciplines. International companies seek to benefit from Egypt's competitive advantages, whether in infrastructure fields, incentive packages or financial and technical support.

According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), Egypt has a broad base of skilled, multilingual professionals, making the country an attractive and low-cost hub for multinational Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies and IT service providers with global operations and services in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The combined IT, BPO, and knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) export market in Egypt is forecast to grow from $3.25 billion in 2017 to $4.7 billion in 2020.
