Egypt Partakes in High-Level Forum Africa-Europe

    Date published: 17 December 2018
Egypt partakes in the High-Level Forum Africa-Europe, taking place on December 17-18, in Vienna, Austria. The Forum aims to promote innovation and digitalization as important enablers of future development, to benefit from the ongoing digital transformation.

The Forum also assesses how current partnerships between Africa and Europe contribute to achieving this goal, complementing the ongoing implementation of the joint declaration of the 2017 Abidjan Summit between the African Union and the European Union, which, among other things, highlighted the importance of unlocking the potential of the digital economy for Africa and Europe.

The High-Level Forum will highlight the untapped potential for deepening the partnership in technology exchange and trade as well as their importance for economic growth, creating employment opportunities, building resilient societies and fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals.

A Round Table Program will focus on key themes linked to innovation for the digital age in Africa, including agriculture 4.0; jobs for the 21st century; investing in start-ups, sustainable energy access; e-government, accelerating e-commerce in Africa and other relevant topics.
