    El-Sisi Meets ICT Minister to Discuss Transition to Digital Government and New Capital Information Infrastructure

    President Abdel Fattah el- Sisi met, today, with the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and the Director of the Information Systems Department of the Armed Forces Yasser Abu Mandour, where the meeting reviewed the executive status of the project of establishing and developing the digital system and information infrastructure of the New Administrative Capital as well as the plan of the transition to digital government and automation of government services.

    During the meeting, el- Sisi commissioned a good preparation for establishing the digital and information infrastructure of the New Administrative Capital, sticking to the timetables. The New Capital City will become a gateway to Egypt's smart cities era, using digital society applications and the latest ICT technologies in the management and operation of facilities and services. This will contribute to achieving sustainable development, improving the quality of citizensí life and meeting their economic, social, environmental, cultural and security needs. This is in addition to reducing operation and maintenance costs and rationalizing consumption.

    The President also called for intensifying efforts to automate the government workflow, especially through developing the management systems of governmental institutions, at the level of human, financial or logistical resources. He pointed out that the State attaches great importance to the ICT sector, for its significant role in achieving sustainable and comprehensive development and promoting economic and community development.

    During the meeting, the President directed they should focus on providing advanced and specialized training for caliber human resources and leaders to enhance their skills and qualify them to work in the digital environment and use the latest technology means, thus contributing to the implementation of the Stateís plans to establish a developed government system that provides the best quality of services to citizens.
