ICT4CCD Project to Cooperate with Rotary Egypt

    Date published: 10 January 2019

The ICT for Comprehensive Community Development Project (ICT4CCD), launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), participated in the Vocational Service Seminar and International Market, organized by Rotary Egypt, Vocational Committee District 2451, on January 10 – 12, in Hurghada, Egypt, under the theme "Be the Inspiration".

Participation in this seminar aims to promote cooperation frameworks between MCIT and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), including Rotary Egypt, by expanding a new phase of the "Decent Work for Youth Using ICT" project, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), that aims to reach out to new areas and more young people in the society.

The aim of this cooperation is to raise community awareness of the significance of developing the skills of young people by using ICTs, particularly the skills required by the labor market, polishing the technological skills of 2000 beneficiaries and qualifying them to find decent job opportunities.

This is conducted through studying the needs of the labor market, which contribute to enhancing development efforts especially in remote and marginalized areas and communities, and eliminating disguised unemployment among young people. Four governorates are to be selected for the project's phase one.
