TIEC Holds Two Workshops on Crowdfunding ToT and CFA

    Date published: 4 February 2019
The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Alternative Finance Lab (AltFin Lab) are holding two workshops on Crowdfunding Training of Trainers (ToT) and Crowdfunding Academy (CFA), on February 4-8, aiming to introduce crowdfunding as an effective impact-investment tool to finance startups in Egypt.

Crowdfunding is the practice of obtaining needed financial support for new business by raising fund from a large number of people through the online community. Often considered as a magic wand, crowdfunding in countries with small developing economies helps fund startups by encouraging people to invest in worthwhile projects, favorably supporting innovation in such developing countries.

The five-day activity, through the two separate workshops, targets both Egyptian entities and startups, aiming to provide them with the needed knowledge on how to launch and develop a crowdfunding campaign and get the needed fund through it. Topics also include the fundamentals of developing a concept and drafting a business plan, and designing and implementing the resource mobilization campaign.
