    Egypt Partakes in SG20 Meeting

    Date published: 8 April 2019
Egypt, represented by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), will participate in the meeting of the Study Group (SG20) “Internet of things (IoT), smart cities and communities”, organized by the Telecommunication Standardization Sector at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T), on April 9-18, in Geneva, Switzerland.

ITU-T study groups assemble experts from around the world to develop international standards known as “ITU-T Recommendations”, which act as defining elements in the global infrastructure of information and communication technologies (ICTs). SG20 is working to address the standardization requirements of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and their applications in smart cities and communities.

ITU, the United Nations’ specialized agency for information and communication technologies (ICTs), was founded in 1865. It facilitates international connectivity in communications networks, allocates global radio spectrum and satellite orbits, develops the technical standards that ensure networks and technologies seamlessly interconnect, and strives to improve access to ICTs to underserved communities worldwide.
