The twenty-first meeting of the Radiocommunication Advisory Group (RAG) is held at the International Telecommunication Union headquarters in Geneva, from 24-27 June.
The RAG will be convening to consider issues related to the ITU-R preparation for the Plenipotentiary Conference and the operational plans.
The RAG is open to representatives of administrations of Member States and representatives of Sector Members and to the Chairmen of the study groups and other groups.
The principal duties of the RAG are to review priorities, programs, operations, financial matters and strategies related to Radiocommunication Assemblies, study groups and the preparation of radiocommunication conferences, and any specific matters as directed by a conference of the Union, a Radiocommunication Assembly or the Council.
The RAG recommends measures to foster cooperation and coordination with other standards bodies, with the Telecommunication Standardization Sector, the Telecommunication Development Sector and the General Secretariat.
Egypt’s keenness to participate in such events reflects a deep interest in radiocommunication field. Egypt’s National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) delegation takes part in the event to represent Egypt’s stances and make sure the country’s interests are taken into consideration.
The meeting decisions are to be presented to the coming World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) 2015.
