    Egypt Partakes in ICANN65 Meeting

    Date published: 23 June 2019

Egypt, represented by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), is participating in the 65th meeting of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)- Policy Forum, held on June 24-27 in Marrakech, Morocco. The event is hosted by the National Agency of Telecommunications Regulation of Morocco (ANRT).
The event addresses current policy development work, and daily opportunities to network with the community. The comprehensive schedule for the Policy Forum will include over 200 sessions with outreach activities.
ICANN meetings are held three times each year in different regions of the globe. They offer the best opportunity for face-to-face discussions. They also offer a variety of sessions such as workshops, open forums and working meetings on the development and implementation of Internet policies.
ICANN meetings are all about participation, collaboration and finding solutions to the small – and large – problems that the Internet constantly faces. Participants attain a lot of benefits as they understand how Internet policies are created and how the Internet works. They gain knowledge about the main issues facing the Internet today and in the near future. In addition, they enhance ICANN work by participating in all key developments.
ICANN was formed in 1998 as a not-for-profit public-benefit corporation and a community with participants from all over the world. ICANN mission is to help ensure a stable, secure and unified global Internet. It assumes, mainly, the responsibility of distributing the fields of addresses in the IP, allocating the protocol identifiers and managing the record system of Generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs) and Country Code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD).
