    Egypt Partakes in ITU Regional Week on Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development and Digital Transformation in the Arab Region

    The Arab Regional Office of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in collaboration with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is organizing the ITU Regional Week on Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development and Digital Transformation in the Arab Region, on August 26-29, in Dubai, UAE.

    The event is sponsored by Intel, Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship (GIE) and other partners.

    This year, the week will focus on the 5th Generation of Mobile Technologies (5G) and how it will transform the landscape for the wide scale deployment of the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data and smart cities, particularly in the Arab region.

    The event discusses promoting the deployment of IoT, AI and big data, to establish smart cities and societies in the Arab region, with the aim to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and digital transformation, as well as the New Urban Agenda in the Arab Region.

    The week is attended by representatives of ITU member states, sector members, associates and academic institutions, as well as relevant stakeholders.
