    6th ITU and WHO Workshop on ďAI for Health, 6th Meeting of ITU FG-AI4H to Hold

    The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), and in collaboration with the ITU Regional Office for Africa, is organizing the 6th ITU and WHO workshop on ďAI for HealthĒ on September 2 in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The Workshop will be followed by the 6th meeting of the ITU-T Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health (FG-AI4H) at the same venue, on September 3-5.

    FG-AI4H will identify opportunities for international standardization of AI for Health-relevant data, information, algorithms, and processes, which will foster the application of AI to health issues on a global scale.

    The ITU/WHO FG-AI4H works in partnership with WHO to establish a standardized assessment framework for the evaluation of AI-based methods for health, diagnosis, triage or treatment decisions.

    The group was established by the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) Study Group 16 in 2018. It aims to meet the challenges by identifying opportunities for international standardization.
