New TEA Round Open for Applicants

    Date published: 12 July 2015

A new round is now open for the Entrepreneurship Accelerator (TEA), a primary outreach initiative of the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC). Available in Cairo, Assiut, Alexandria and Mansoura, the accelerator assists entrepreneurial ventures in addressing complex challenges associated with the identification and capture of business opportunities. Applications deadline is July 25.

TIEC has created and runs the Entrepreneurship Accelerator which is a system of events designed to promote entrepreneurship among the ICT community. The Accelerator has been developed for those who want a more intensive entrepreneurial experience.

The program is open to owners of ideas and projects in the ICT sector. It is also available to students with industry experience or students with specialized knowledge and skill sets in engineering, the sciences or other complementary technologies and disciplines who may not be owners of ideas but are interested in joining the program to form teams.

The project teams are composed of three to five students, guided by faculty mentors with industry/venture experience. The teams work on the different parts of their business plan during the course of the 12 week cycle.

At the end of the cycle, the teams present their business plans and pitch their projects to the TEA management team. Selected candidates will be given the opportunity to pitch their ventures to investors in investor pitches that take place at the end of each cycle: December, May and September.
