Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is to participate in the fifth edition of the International Conference on Information and Communications Technology and Accessibility (ICTA), held on December 21-23 in Marrakech, Morocco.
ICTA is organized under the auspices of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), with the support of ENSIAS College of Engineering affiliated to Mohammed V University of Rabat, the Research Laboratory of Technologies of Information and Communication and Electrical Engineering (LaTICE) of the University of Tunis and the Tunisian Association of e-Accessibility.
ICTA2015 is also co-sponsored by IEEE Moroccan Section. ICTA is a bi-annual conference and its fifth edition explores several areas related to ICT and education with special focus on Technology Enhanced Education for People with Disabilities (PWDs).
The Advisor of the ICT Minister for Community Services Abeer Shakweer will participate in ICTA activities as a spokesperson to talk about the Regional Center of ICT for PWDs. She will also participate as a speaker at another session on “Mobile for Persons with Disabilities". Many experts in this area from around the Arab world as well as several donors will participate in this conference.
MCIT participation in this conference is in the framework of its strategic plan to support and enable People with Disabilities (PWDs). MCIT is keen to exchange knowledge and communicate internationally in terms of PWDs accessibility to ICTs. Participation also aims to showcase the Egyptian experience in this area, and in particular, the Regional Center of ICT for PWDs in order to open cooperation prospects with Arab countries to build partnerships within the framework of the Regional Center.
