    Egyptian Education Initiative Awarded "Project of the Year"

    The Egyptian Education Initiative (EEI) has been awarded this month the "Project of the year" prize by the Cisco Networking Academy in Europe and the Middle East and North Africa.
    The International Academy Center in Istanbul provided the setting for this year's prestigious Academy Award Ceremony, an event featuring the stand-out initiatives, individuals and academics. Mr. Yasser Kazem, EEI Strategic Coordinator represented the EEI team in the event and received the award from Cisco Vice President Amy Christen.
    The event was hosted by the Director of the Networking Academy in European and Emerging Markets John Edwards with the support of Christen, the Global Head of the Program and public sector Vice President Yvon Le Roux.   
    Speaking on behalf of the judges, Christen described the EEI as a sustainable and replicable model of global-local and public-private partnership, bringing about training and opportunities on a massive scale and helping Egypt transform itself into a 21st century digital economy.
    The Egyptian Education Initiative (EEI) is a public-private partnership between Egypt's Government , the World Economic Forum and private sector companies. The initiative aims to improve education in Egypt through effective use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
