    MCIT Marks Data Privacy Day

    The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT)—represented by the National Committee of the Children Online Protection (COP)—will hold a celebration tomorrow on the occasion of Data Privacy Day (DPD), held annually on January 28.

    The event, held at MCIT premises with Microsoft sponsorship, covers significant topics including privacy principals, the future of privacy and innovation, implications of personal Information (cloud and devices privacy) and others.

    Data Privacy Day is an international day that is celebrated in the United States, Canada and 47 European countries. It is an effort to empower people to protect their privacy, control their digital footprint and escalate the protection of privacy and data as everyone’s priority. It aims to increase awareness of privacy and data protection issues among consumers, organizations and government officials.
