    Internet Safety Project's First International Executive Board Meeting Held in Cairo

    First International Executive Board Meeting of Egypt's Internet Safety Project was held in Cairo on November 29. The meeting was attended by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel.

    The meeting reviewed the progress and achievements reached by the project since its launch in September 2006 in Sharm el-Sheikh.

    A number of representatives from the United Nations, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Compass Rose International, Child Net and private sector companies also took part in the one-day meeting.
     
    The "Internet safety Project", the first of its kind in the region, has been launched on September 1st in Sharm el-Sheikh on the sidelines of the International Youth Forum for Peace.
     
    The project aims to empower the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to spread a culture of peace, tolerance and dialogue among the youth as well as protecting children from the misuse of the internet.
