    ELCC Organizes Training Activities in Aswan

    The E-Learning Competence Center (ELCC) organized a number of training activities during November 24-28, at Aswan Information Center and Aswan University, in Aswan governorate. This comes to fulfill the “Education” article of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Aswan governorate, implemented by ELCC.

    The activities aim to promote e-learning as one of ELCC objectives, in line with MCIT strategy to attain comprehensive community development.

    Activities included creating and developing two e-contents for the eProfEng program, in collaboration with Egyptian and European universities. The project targets creating a Learning Management System (LMS) comprising training activities to bridge the skills gap between university engineering education and the labor market, based on the Gap Analysis Report.

    ELCC organized five training courses including “Accrediting trainers of targeted e-learning academies in Aswan” program. Sixteen trainers from eight civil society organization and government entities participated in the program. It targeted training trainers on “IT Essentials” e-content of Cisco Networking Academy, The aim is to help them become certified trainers. This help university students and graduates find jobs and hone their technical skills using ICT.

    The second was a course on “e-content creation and e-learning system management” including a series of trainings for faculty, teaching assistants and university students, on how to manage the e-learning system and create interactive e-content. Fourteen trainees from Aswan University's e-learning center joined this course.

    In addition, ELCC held three training courses for faculty members, teaching assistants and students from the faculties of specific education and agriculture. The trainees received training on creating interactive e-content using Articulate storyline 03 program. They were also introduced to e-learning basics, what is the educational scenario, educational design basics and creating interactive e-content.

    The first course was attended by 16 students in the third and fourth years; the second by 22 faculty members and teaching assistants; and the third by 14 faculty members and teaching assistants.

    This is in addition to organizing community culture trainings to prevent and fight corruption. Seventy employees of state administrative organs were trained, in cooperation with the National Anti-Corruption Academy and the Administrative Control Authority (ACA).

    The total number of trainees who joined ELCC training programs reached 83.
