Cybersecurity Week will be held on June 27 until July 1 in Quito, Ecuador. It is co-organized by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society (MINTEL), the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Agency for Regulation and Control of the Telecommunications (ARCOTEL) that will host the event.
The event will count with several parallel sessions, some sessions will be oriented towards government representatives at the decision-making level to develop cybersecurity policies and regulations and the others will be oriented towards experts with cybersecurity knowledge responsible for cybersecurity incident handling.
During the sessions, participants will be challenged with realistic situations under national cybersecurity emergencies towards taking effective decisions about cybersecurity regional perspectives. Viewpoints of the government, the industry, the academia and different stakeholders as the critical infrastructure and service providers will be gathered.
The technical sessions will be addressed by regional institutions and by global cybersecurity companies whose objectives are to offer technical capacity building on cybersecurity and to integrate regional Computer Incident Response Teams (CIRTs)/Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) representatives.
The event will gather up CERTs of the region's member states, decision makers about cybersecurity, staff of telecommunication administrations, regulatory authorities, regional organizations, sector members and special guests from America's region.
