    Alexandria Hosts Employment of Persons with Disabilities Forum

    The Governorate of Alexandria, in cooperation with Egypt ICT Trust Fund, opened, today, the Employment of Persons with Disabilities Forum, at the Institute for Training and Research in Reproductive Health. The Forum is organized in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA).

    The Forum is within the framework of the project “Jobs and Skills for PWDs with Focus on ICT-Based Solutions” that aims to find job opportunities for People with Disabilities (PwDs) in Egypt, commensurate with their creative abilities. The Forum also aims to assist PwDs enter the labor market.

    Several Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and charity organizations specialized in the field of physical, intellectual and visual disability, as well as many of the major economic institutions in Alexandria, such as Unilever and Varco, have participated in the Forum. Moreover, the young ladies of Noor project, sponsored by Unilever Global Company, engaged also in the Forum to provide jobs for tens of young ladies with visual impairment in jobs of customer service and sales at Alexandria markets.
