Egypt, represented by the Egyptian Computer Emergency Response Team (EG-CERT) of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), will participate in the fifth Arab Regional Cyber Drill-Applied Learning for Emergency Response Teams (ALERT) for the Arab Region, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre (ARCC), and hosted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar on March 5-9 in Doha. The cyber drill is dedicated for National Arab CERT, private Computer Incident Response Teams (CIRTs) and critical sectors security operation centers.
The main objective of the event is to enhance the communication and incident response capabilities of the participating teams, as well as to ensure a continued collective effort in mitigating cyber threats among the Regionís national Computer Incident Response Teams (CIRTs).
The agenda of the event will include sessions on Industrial Control System (ICS) cybersecurity, advanced forensics analysis of malware, threat analysis and predictions. This is in addition to the unbalanced equation between protection and attack capabilities in the critical infrastructure, incident coordination and public communication, social engineering and client side attacks.
