    IAMOT 19th Conference Concludes

    Date published: 11 March 2010

19th International Conference on Management of Technology held from 8-11 March 2010 in Cairo concluded.

The conference witnessed deep and serious discussions. Attendees praised Egypt's leading role, specifically in the field of information and communication technology (ICT).

Participants also thanked Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel for his keynote speech.

They pointed out that strategy of Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the scientific applications at the Smart Village represent a role model for economic development that other developing countries should adopt.

Nile University (NU) President Dr. Tarek Kahlil noted that the NU team at the conference was keen to follow activities and discussions tackling more than 350 scientific papers in addition to speeches by keynote speakers and moderators of sessions. By doing so, they could derive the experiences of academics and international industry leaders who took part in the conference.

The conference was organized by International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT) and hosted by NU.

Dr. Kahlil said history mentioned that Egypt's ancient civilization dominated the world thanks to the advanced technology it possessed at that time.

This civilization diminished after Egypt had become inferior to Greek and the Roman Empires before technological development reached Europe, the US, China and other parts of Asia, he added.

According to Dr. Khalil, Egypt can restore such an old status and leading role by reinforcing its potentials and technological innovation as well as making use of the Egyptian human calibers.
