Egypt Celebrates EEI's Second Anniversary at WEF in Sharm El-Sheikh

    Date published: 30 April 2008

A special session will be held to celebrate the second anniversary of the Egyptian Education Initiative (EEI) during the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the Middle East due from 1820 May, 2008 in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The celebration - to be also witnessed by representatives of the WEF, the World Bank, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), international companies and other success partners - will be presenting the Egyptian successful model in educational reform via the use of information and communications technology (ICT) tools.
The event will be also highlighting the Government's support, partners' contribution, themes, goals, accomplishments and results attained since the initiative's launch in 2006.

Over the course of 24 months, massive investments have been created in training, developing curricula, certification, content digitalization, infrastructure deployment and hardware as part of the EEI program activities.

The scale of achievements can be demonstrated through the projects implemented in the EEI four tracks of: Pre-University, Higher Education, Lifelong Learning and e-Learning Development.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian successful model has been planned to be replicated in other developing countries.

The EEI is a public-private partnership (PPP) between Egypt's Government and the World Economic Forum's IT members community. The initiative supports Egypt's overall educational reform efforts and maximizes the potential for collaborative PPP to achieve its goals.
