Nile University (NU) organized Tuesday, 4 August 2009 an open day in the Smart Village for high school graduates to introduce them to the new NU undergraduate programs.

During the event, graduates of Thanaweya Amma (Egyptian high school), American Diploma, IGCSE and other equivalent systems discussed the available opportunities with the NU administration. They also toured the university and learned about the Smart Village facilities.

The undergraduate programs, offered for the first time at NU, are: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (CE), Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) and Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Service Engineering and Management (ISEM). NU offers early admission scholarships.

NU has signed several deals with international companies and reputable universities worldwide.

Last June, NU signed a cooperation agreement with North Western University's McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science on establishing a joint Nanoelectronics Integrated System Center.

Two months earlier, NU had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mentor Graphics. Based on the deal, Mentor Graphics provides support to the Microelectronics System Design programs at NU.

Mentor Graphics has also entered into joint research projects with NU's Nanoelectronics Integrated Systems Center (NISC), including fellowships and training opportunities at the company's branch in Egypt.
