NTI Programs Witness High Turnout of Local and Arab ICT Companies

    Date published: 11 August 2009

National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) training programs witnessed during summer an increasing turnout of local and Arab companies.

On the Arab level, NTI organized, in cooperation with International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a workshop on Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS). A total of 20 participants from Egypt, Jordan, Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Oman and Sudan took part in the workshop.

Separately, NTI collaborated with Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) in training a number of Kuwaiti engineers on state-of-the-art fiber optic technologies. Locally, NTI effectively cooperated with specialized companies and universities in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) during July and August.

Several engineers from Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Marine Transport and others from American University in Egypt received Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) training.

NTI also trained engineers form TE Data on building communication networks, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS).
In addition, 40 engineers from Giza Systems Company were trained on an integrated program for advanced communication technologies. Other engineers from Etisalat Misr received Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) training.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sherbini, Deputy Minister of Communications and IT for International Cooperation and NTI Director, pointed out that such cooperation meets the needs of Arab and local ICT companies.

The high turnout of ICT companies, he added, came out of their belief in the importance of the programs offered by NTI as well as the institute's role in developing specialized Arab and Egyptian calibers.
