Euromoney Egypt Investor Conference to kick off in Hong Kong

    Date published: 21 February 2010

The Euromoney Egypt Investor Conference is due to kick off on March 2nd, 2010 in Hong Kong.

A high-level Egyptian delegation led by Minister of Investment Dr. Mahmoud Mohie Eddin and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel will participate in the meeting.

Several keynote speakers and sponsors are also expected to contribute to the event including, but not limited to, Chairman of General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Osama Saleh, Chairman of Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Maged Shawky, Chairman of CI Capital Holding, Karim Helal, and Managing Director of Citadel Capital, Marwan Elaraby.

The conference is expected to discuss Egypt's high potentials and opportunities in the country as an international platform for direct investments. The Egyptian Ministry of Investment and GAFI will co-host the conference activities.

"While investor interest has intensified in Europe, related financial support has waned in light of the global downturn," said Richard Banks, Director, Middle East, Euromoney Conferences.

"Alternatively, Asian markets have rebounded more quickly and are looking to capitalize on the continued economic growth and relative stability of the Egyptian market," he added.

It is worth mentioning that this annual Euromoney event, which has taken place in London for the past five years, is shifting focus to the Far East in light of Asia's growing interests in Egypt.
