    Egypt Partakes in COMESA Joint Meeting of Technical Committees

    Egypt, represented by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), will participate in the COMESA Joint Meeting of Transport, Communications, Information Technology and Energy Technical Committees, taking place on July 31-August 2 in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

    Expert meeting will start on July 31, comprising experts from COMSA member states, followed by the joint ministerial meeting on August 3-4, where representatives of concerned ministers will take part to adopt the outputs of the expert meeting.

    NTRA participates regularly in these meetings and activities, where COMESA member states have agreed to establish a network for member statesí regulatory authorities. COMESA has expressed its intent to establish a regional center for cybersecurity and change the headquarters of the Secretariat of the Association of Regulators of Information and Communications for Eastern and Southern Africa (ARICEA). NTRA has officially submitted its request that Egypt be the official headquarters of this regional center as well as the ARICEA secretariat, which will be discussed during the meeting.
