    Cairo ICT 2015

    President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi inaugurated the nineteenth edition of Cairo ICT 2015, held under his auspices on December 13-16 at Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Center (CICC). President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi delivered a speech, on occasion of inauguration, in which he launched two initiatives for the advancement of electronics industry and technology education.

    Cairo ICT is one of the top international events in the Middle East and North Africa covering the fields of telecom, information technology, electronics, mobile applications, integrated systems, satellite and broadcasting, hardware and software, security, internet, mobile services and related sectors.

    Within the inauguration of Cairo ICT 2015, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser ElKady witnessed the ceremony of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and UAE Al Rowad IT Solutions Company on cooperation in the various fields of smart IT applications, creativity and innovation.

    ElKady partook in the opening session, held on the first day of the Conference, under the title "the future of digital generation". He also met with a delegation from Visa International Company, where they discussed financial inclusion experiences and cooperation with the international post organizations.

    During the second day of Cairo ICT, ElKady participated in "The future of financial inclusion" session, where he underlined the role of ICT sector in developing financial inclusion policies.

    He also attended a meeting organized by the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), discussing key challenges facing businessmen and investors in supporting startups and means to encourage them.

    The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) had a pavilion through which it offered awareness activities in the ICT field, particularly in relation to broadband services and their key role in facilitating citizens' life.

    The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) sponsored the participation of 36 ICT companies.

    ITIDA pavilion showcased the Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT) projects of Bibliotheca Alexandrina and also the latest developments in technology park sector.

    Egypt Telecom (TE) had also a distinguished pavilion through which it provided many services, offers and competitions for citizens and visitors, including new subscription bundles that enable customers to choose systems suitable to their needs and enjoy free monthly minutes.

    The Egyptian National Post Organization (ENPO) also participated in the conference through presenting a new model and design for a modern technology-supported center, through which ENPO can provide automated postal and financial services in the shortest possible time.

    The Information Technology Institute (ITI) participated, as well, through offering excellent opportunities for providing training on the latest technological applications. ITI showcased the latest technological applications in the areas of: Internet of Things (IoT), communications and others.

    Cairo ICT 2015 also held three prominent side events: “DS-Tech 2015”— the first MEA defense and security exhibition and forum— the Second E-payment and Financial Inclusion Forum and Exhibition (PAFIX) and Smart Communities Exhibition.
