    Cairo ICT 2009

    Cairo ICT 2009 held from 8-11 February  is organized under the theme "Know before You Go" under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

    This yearís exhibition witnesses the participation of 350 exhibitors, 60 per cent of which are Arab and international companies, covering a space of 19.000 square meters.

    Sessions at the four-day event focus on a business perspective of internet governance, ICT and health for community development, Broadband Initiative, Impact of financial crisis on the ICT sector, comparing submarine cable versus satellite communications as well as the business process outsourcing (BPO).

    The exhibition presents "Future Living" which is a showcase for real estate developers who are adopting the latest technologies to provide security for their tenants or potential clients.

    Malaysia is the guest of honor of this yearís event as the Malaysian experiment in the ICT sector is akin to the Egyptian one.

    MCIT organized one of the biggest pavilions in Cairo ICT 09 exhibition. The pavilion, present at Hall 4 dubbed the "Smart Village Hall".

    The pavilion showcased the ministryís efforts and best practices in fields of e-content, e-health, e-government, cyber safety, e-learning and ICT training.

    MCIT also participates in many of Cairo ICT's conference sessions, especially those tackling the areas of ICT, health and copyrights.
