    Cooperation Protocol between MCIT and National Council for Childhood and Motherhood

    Cairo, 6 November 2006

    In working towards an Egyptian Information Society in cooperation with the countryís ministries and authorities, Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Ambassador Moushira Khatab, Secretary General of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood witnessed the signing of a bilateral cooperation agreement introducing IT tools and services to the Council to facilitate its activities and operations.

    The agreement was signed by Dr. Hoda Baraka, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Ambassador Hussein Sadr, Advisor to the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood.

    The Council aims to facilitate its internal operations, a task that requires the modernization of its information infrastructure by using up-to-date IT tools.

    The protocol is a three-year renewable contract, during which a developed automatic network to serve and rescue children will be set up. It will also offer other services to children through a communication point that has an information network for 20 external authorities.

    The protocol will also support the initiative to educate girls and provide 350 schools with communications and IT (CIT) tools as well as to build two mobile CIT units to serve the Councilís activities geared towards several calibers of youth, children, mothers and teenagers.
