    Inauguration of ICT Projects In Dakahlia Governorate

    Dr. Tarek Kamel, minister of Communications and Information technology accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Said Swan, Dakahlia governor inaugurated a number of new projects in the field of CIT in Dakahlia governorate, whereby Minister Kamel started by meeting with the local and executive leadership of the governorate in El-Mansoura University conference center where he demonstrated the current status in the framework of implementing the government’s ICT outreach strategy throughout Egypt’s governorates.

    Kamel accompanied by Swan made an inspection tour whereby they inaugurated Mansoura West operation center, an IT club at the fardous charity complex as well as the main Mansoura Post Office after the recent developments that equipped for more effective offering of all the integrated postal, financial and general governmental services.

    During the visit, Eng. Akil Beshir, chairman of Telecom Egypt demonstrated a presentation illustrating the offered telephone services in the governorate and the company’s achievements throughout the last five years. He also demonstrated the new services offered by the company to the citizens in the governorate and the future plans for further expansions.

    On another level, Dr. Ikram Fathy, senior advisor to the minister for Human Resources and Training, presented the ministry’s plan to avail access to IT clubs all through Egypt while equipping them with PCs and connecting them to the internet in collaboration with the Egyptian universities, youths centers, culture palaces, NGOs and other entities of interest.

    Eng. Alaa Fahmy, President of the National Postal Authority also gave a presentation covering the postal services offered by the postal offices that amount to over 3400 office allover the country. He further demonstrated the Authority’s plan to resume modulating and upgrading the rest of the offices throughout Egypt and connecting them to one network whereby they can offer the latest financial and postal services in accordance to international standards.

    During his visit, Dr. Kamel also demonstrated the latest developments of the Egyptian Education Initiative which aims at integrating ICT in all preparatory schools, while equipping teachers to obtain the ICDL for PCs. Moreover, it contributes in enhancing the educational process and boosting information and research methodologies to finally avail the highest levels of innovative and creative learning technique.
