Post Offices to Provide School Fees Collection Service, Says ICT Minister

    Cairo, 23 September 2018

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat stated that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and its affiliates seek to facilitate procedures of service delivery for citizens. He pointed out that the State is working on enhancing coordination among all institutions to improve the system and maximize its utilization using latest technology means.

He said that school fees collection service for all pre-university educational stages via post offices is a new addition to the services provided by the Egyptian National Post Organization (ENPO) to citizens and will contribute to reducing the burden of paying school fees, through providing this service via all post offices nationwide, instead of paying them at only educational departments and schools.

For his part, ENPO Chairman Essam El-Saghir said that the provision of school fees collection service is within the framework of ENPO efforts to develop services provided to citizens. He pointed out that, based on prior agreement with the Ministry of Education—which allows providing the service for all educational stages: KGs, primary, preparatory, general secondary, technical secondary— the service was launched at all post offices nationwide, which number totals 4000 offices. He explained that after paying school fees and service fees, estimated at three pounds, the citizen will receive a payment receipt from the post office including "the name of the student - the name of the school and the educational department" to be handed over to the school.

He added that this new service has been introduced using the latest advanced electronic systems and devices, which lead to speed of service delivery and save time and effort for customers, thus Egypt Post will be citizens’ first choice and will become a platform for providing all services.
