Protocol with CAO for Technology Development

    Cairo, 23 May 2013

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr Atef Helmy along with Central Auditing Organization (CAO) head Counselor Hisham Genina signed a cooperation protocol between MCIT and CAO at the latter premises to implement the project of CAO technological development and modernization.

The project aims to develop and update the CAO’s technology infrastructure through a number of main pillars, which requires spreading an e-archiving system and the CAO information system, already implemented, to all departments, in parallel with providing the required equipment and licenses.

This entails the development of the information network and providing the accompanying full maintenance - by contracting with a specialized company- and a full  insurance system, as well as improving human skills of IT employees through a number of specialized training courses.

A study shall also be elaborated to implement the CAO controlling network nationwide.

MCIT will also provide technical consultancies where specialists are available at the Ministry.

The Minister of ICT, Mr Atef Helmy has stated that implementing the project comes within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to fully coordinate with CAO to support and invest ICT technologies in the domains of control, corruption fighting and achievement of full transparency to enhance the effectiveness of the information flow internally and between the organization and other entities, in addition to developing employees’ skills in this field.
