    SIS Technology Infrastructure Development via Joint Protocol with MCIT

    Cairo, 28 May 2013

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology along with the Chairman of the State Information Service (SIS) Ambassador Dr Mohamed Badr el-Din Zayed signed today, at SIS headquarters in Nasr city, a joint cooperation protocol between the two parties to implement  the SIS technological infrastructure development project, as well as supporting its e-portal.

    The protocol project targets the development and modernization of SIS technology infrastructure.

    The protocol is going to work on multiple pillars including the provision of computers, printers, servers, networks, internet connections, network security systems and SIS portal live streaming.
    Moreover, the protocol will also study and develop SIS computer systems which include personnel systems, payrolls, balance sheets, accounting, purchases and inventory. 

    Additionally, the protocol will focus on SIS staff human development through organizing a number of specialized training courses for them.
    MCIT is to provide SIS, according to the terms of the protocol, with technical consultancy requested by SIS in the areas of MCIT expertise.

    Mr Helmy has said that the implementation of this protocol comes within MCIT interest in coordinating with SIS to promote and invest in communications and IT technologies to cater to different electronic publishing fields. 

    He has further explained that MCIT is to employ all its available capabilities to reach its target which comes within its strategic objectives that focus on maximizing the utilization of resources, thus, contribute to improving the quality of the services offered. 

    MCIT is also to capitalize on the existing achievements in a manner that keeps pace with the ongoing colossal qualitative and quantitative development taking place in ICT field as part of MCIT plan to achieve cooperation and integration with all government institutions, Mr Helmy has added.

    On his part, Ambassador Zayed has stated that the cooperation philosophy with MCIT underscores making the most out of both partiesí potentials. 

    Furthermore, recruiting such capabilities in the electronic publishing field, allowing access to information available about Egypt, in addition to correctly conveying information to the Egyptian citizens, both at home and abroad.

    Ambassador Zayed pointed out that the cooperation will extend to exploiting SISís distinguished track record of providing correct and accurate information about different fields in Egypt including politics, economy, society and culture.  SIS also provides access to such information through the internet in different languages such as Arabic, English and French with a view to making its website Egyptís official web portal.
