ICT Minister Opens Two Integrated Postal Services Centers in Beni Suef

    Beni Suef, 31 December 2018

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, the Governor of Beni Suef Hani Abdel-Gaber and Egypt National Post Organization (ENPO) Chairman Essam El-Saghir inaugurated, today, East Beni Suef Postal Service Center and New Beni Suef Postal Service Center after developing and transforming them into integrated postal service centers.

Following the opening, Talaat, Abdel-Gaber and El-Saghir conducted an inspection tour to both centers to follow up on the workflow in providing all the traditional and new postal services to citizens. They listened to the opinions of a number of citizens who were receiving services at the two centers.

During his tour, Talaat ascertained that Egypt Post (EP) witnesses a great development in the framework of re-shaping its role, to be a platform for providing government, digital inclusion and postal services to citizens. This is to be achieved through introducing new services based on technological systems and in line with global developments, thus EP could be one of the five main channels through which citizens can receive the digital government services, due to be launched within the next 18 months, under the projects implemented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in cooperation with the State’s different sectors to achieve the transition to digital society.

For his part, El-Saghir said that this inauguration is within the framework of implementing the comprehensive strategic plan carried out by EP to provide services to citizens. He pointed out that postal service centers are to provide e-government services to citizens, after being developed and equipped with the latest developed systems and solutions. This is in addition to the financial and postal services provided by EP.

Beni Suef governorate includes about 110 post offices based on serving millions of the governorate’s residents. East Beni Suef Postal Service Center is located on an area of 155 square meters to serve 100 thousand citizens, while New Beni Suef Postal Service Center is located on an area of 105 square meters to serve 60,000 people. Both centers will provide all financial and postal services, the service of paying traffic violations and other civil status services.
