    ICT Minister Receives TE Chairman and New CEO

    Cairo, 31 January 2019

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has received the Chairman of Telecom Egypt (TE) Maged Osman, TE New Managing Director and CEO Adel Hamed, and TE former CEO Ahmed Al Behairy.

    During the meeting, Talaat wished TE new leadership and the new members of the Board of Directors great success. He urged the TE new leaders to proceed with the implementation of the telecommunication infrastructure development plans, highlighting TE vital role in developing telecommunication services in Egypt, as part of the State's strategy for the transition to digital society.

    The ICT Minister also thanked Al-Beheiry for the efforts he exerted during his tenure as TE CEO, wishing him success during the coming period.

    Three government representatives at TE Board of Directors were replaced under the Prime Minister's decree. The changes included appointing Tarek Mohammed Abdulla Al Zaher as the successor to Ashraf Mohammed Farid, and appointing Adel Hamed Ibrahim Gad Allah as the successor to Ahmed Mohamed Hamdi Al Beheiry. This is in addition to appointing Hossam Abdellah Mousa El-Gamal as the successor to Amr Abdel Rashid Mansour. The new board held a meeting this afternoon, during which it approved the appointment of Adel Hamed as TE Managing Director and CEO.
