    ICT Minister Witnesses Signing LoI between ITIDA and UiPath during World Government Summit

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has met with Karan Dixit, the Vice President of UiPath for Middle East and Africa, a software development company specialized in the development of Robotic Process Automation (RPA), where they discussed the investment opportunities available in the ICT sector in Egypt. The meeting was attended by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) Acting CEO Maha Rashad, and UiPath Alliance and Channel Lead for Middle East and North Africa Ahmed Adly.

    The meeting was held during the participation of the ICT Minister in the World Government Summit, held on February 10 – 12, in Dubai, attended by more than 4000 leaders, officials, policy makers and experts from more than 150 countries.

    The meeting discussed UiPath’s future plans, the opening of headquarters for the company in Egypt, and the transfer of experiences of UiPath to Egyptian companies working in the field of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) to provide RPA services.

    Talaat witnessed the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) between ITIDA and UiPath to cooperate in qualifying Egyptian calibers and polishing their skills in the field of software provided by UiPath RPA through the company's electronic platform, the first open platform for online training and certification, designed for RPA users.

    Cooperation entails the formulation of a training program that takes into account the industry’s requirements, determined by the company's international and local partners in Egypt. The program aims to equip 100 trainees per year, to meet the requirements of the labor market, and to provide them with job opportunities in the companies specialized in this field
     
    The LoI also stipulates that ITIDA is to introduce and define UiPath academic alliance program to all stakeholders, and participate in organizing joint workshops after the pilot phase of the program’s launch.

    The LoI was signed by ITIDA Acting CEO Maha Rashad and the Vice President of UiPath for Middle East and Africa Karan Dixit.

    UiPath is headquartered in New York, USA and has offices in 19 countries across North America, Europe and Asia. The Company aims to serve and train more than one million students in 1,000 universities worldwide through its UiPath Academic Alliance.

    On the sidelines of his participation in the Summit, the ICT Minister also met with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Haitham bin Abdulrahman Al-Ohali. The meeting discussed means of supporting cooperation mechanisms between the two countries in the ICT field.

    In addition, Talaat participated in “The Future of Digital Policy in Partnership with Google” panel session, held on the sidelines of the Summit, during which he reviewed Egypt's experience in the formulation of digital policies, the significance of partnership between the public and private sectors, and the key partnerships established in Egypt’s ICT Sector.

    The ICT Minister is due to meet today with a number of representatives from regional and international companies to review the competitive advantages of the Egyptian ICT sector and the most important available investment opportunities.
