    ICT Minister Inspects Constructions at Knowledge City in New Administrative Capital

    Cairo, 3 November 2019

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has inspected the construction work at the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital, which is being established on a 211-acre area as a hub for research and innovation centers specialized in advanced technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), embedded systems, and others.

    The City will also comprise all the ICT industry elements including training centers, technology incubators and business accelerators. This is in addition to international and local companies specializing in ICTs.

    The first phase is due to be inaugurated next year. It includes four buildings: a specialized ICT university, a training building including the branches of both the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) and the Information Technology Institute (ITI) affiliated to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).

    This is in addition to the National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID) that aims to train the Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and their caretakers, and build their capacities in ICT; a branch of the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) that includes technology incubators and business accelerators; and an applied research center in modern technologies.

    The City's buildings are designed according to modern building styles reflecting the use of technology and the authenticity inspired by the Egyptian identity and civilization.

    The ICT Minister was accompanied by the Ministerís Advisor for Technology Parks Sherine El-Guindy, and the Ministerís Advisor for Engineering Affairs and the Knowledge City Project Supervisor Khaled El Kobrosly.
