    ICT Minister Inspects Infrastructure Work Carried Out by TE in Two Locations to Achieve Digital Transformation in Dakahlia

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, during his visit to Dakahlia Governorate to inspect and open a number of ICT and post projects, accompanied by Dakahlia Governor Ayman Mokhtar, opened, today, Telecom Egypt (TE) customer service center – Mansoura, to provide comprehensive telecommunication services and technical support to nearly 700,000 customers.

    Talaat explored the telecommunication services provided by the center to citizens, including receiving contract requests for new lines, selling landline added features, providing local and international call services, telegraph and fax services. This is in addition to selling home cards, handling bill enquiries and collection and providing mobile and internet technical support services.

    Moreover, the ICT Minister visited two sites for extending telecommunication fiber optic cables, where he inspected the infrastructure work carried out by TE. This comes within the strategic plan to support digital transformation and automate government sectors in Dakahlia, to provide different government services for citizens electronically, in pursuit of building digital Egypt.

    The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is due to link 33,000 government facilities with fiber optic cables, nationwide, with a total budget of around 5.5 billion EGP from the state budget, in 36 months.

    There are 14 main and 149 sub- telephone exchanges in Dakahlia, including 39 sales and 124 quick sell outlets. In addition, there are around 617208 landline and 453353 internet subscribers.
