NTA Continues ‘Professional Governmental Employee’ Program in Presence of ICT, Local Development Ministers

    Cairo, 10 May 2020

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and the Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy have witnessed the launching of the third phase of the Professional Governmental Employee training program, at the National Training Academy (NTA) premises. They were received by NTA Executive Director Rascha Ragheb.

The Deputy Minister for Institutional Development Ghada Labib also attended the launching ceremony. Joining the ceremony through videoconference were Kafr El-Sheikh Governor Gamal Nour El Din, Beheira Governor Hisham Amna and Sharqia Governor Mamdouh Ghorab.

Talaat stated that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) collaborates with NTA to carry out the third phase of the program. This comes within the state’s plan for raising the efficiency of employees at the country’s administrative apparatus, to deal with modern technology, in line with the administrative changes and the trend towards digital transformation. The aim is to build the capacities and develop the skills of civil servants, as well as qualifying front office staff in different governorates, to improve the quality of services rendered to citizens.

NTA launched the digital initiative 2020 in early April, to provide extensive digital knowledge, within NTA academic and knowledge roles and to ensure its continuity as the country faces Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) crisis.

The third phase of the training program is carried out online through NTA e-platform, targeting training 1,200 civil servants in Kafr El Sheikh, Beheira and Sharqia.

The program reflects the keenness of the political leadership to build the Egyptian citizen, improve the quality of services rendered to citizens and implement the social justice pillar in Egypt’s Vision 2030.

NTA managed to provide high quality training to 2,470 trainees, over two phases, including Cairo, Giza, Alexandria and Port Said Governorates. It also aims to train 11,000 more trainees in other governorates.

The Professional Governmental Employee training program targets developing solid codes and standards for employees’ appearance and behavior, in general. It was designed based on a number of fundamental pillars, including public administration, change management, team building, state administrative reform, public relations, the influence of the media, etiquette and protocols, as well as some modern technological concepts, leadership and communication skills, national awareness, identity and national security.
