    Sherif Farouk Appointed ENPO Chairman

    Cairo, 29 July 2020

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has stated that the Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decree appointing Sherif Mohamed Farouk the Chairman of the Egyptian National Post Organization (ENPO), for a one-year term, starting July 21.

    The ICT Minister had issued a decree, on June 1, appointing Farouk ENPO Acting Chairman, for a one-year term.

    Farouk has an experience in banking, spanning 29 years, in restructuring banks and financial institutions, developing work, qualifying executives and professionals, and developing banking services for individuals and in private banks. This is in addition to experience in branch network management, credit risk management, payment card manufacturing and corporate loans, as well as in business development and management, and personnel training.

    Farouk was the Vice Chairman and CEO of Nasser Social Bank, since March 2017. During that period, he led the change, development and restructuring process of the bank. He also worked for the Egyptian Gulf Bank Cairo, from 2006 to February 2017, as well as for the National Bank for Development (NBD), currently known as Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), from May 2004 to 2007. In addition, he worked for the Egyptian American Bank Cairo, currently known as Crdit Agricole Egypt (CAE), from September 1989 to May 2002.

    Farouk holds a bachelor degree in commerce, accounting major, from Ain Shams University, 1987. He obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences, banking major, in 2009, as well as a PhD in Business Administration from Ain Shams University.
