    ICT Minister Opens Three Postal Services Centers to Render Integrated Postal, Community, Financial Services

    Cairo, 12 September 2020

    The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat opened, today, three postal services centers, in the 6th of October City, Mansheya El-Bakry and Kasr El Deyafa in Heliopolis, to render integrated postal and community services to citizens. He was accompanied by the Chairman of the Egyptian National Post Organization (ENPO) Sherif Farouk.

    This comes within the framework of developing Egypt Post, which always strives to provide an integrated system of financial and community services, and to keep pace with the recent developments in ICT. New service pillars were introduced to achieve this vision through providing a set of integrated services, including new different services that contribute directly to achieving the stateís plans for development.

    The main postal services center in the 6th of October City, which serves more than 50,000 citizens, provides notarization services, in addition to traditional postal services, such as pension disbursement, current accounts, local and international transfers, correspondence and parcel services, express mail and others.

    The center in Mansheya El-Bakry, that serves over 300,000 citizens, provides notarization services, as well as integrated postal, financial and community services. The one in Kasr El Deyafa provides traditional integrated postal, community and financial services, such as pension disbursement, current accounts, local and international transfers, correspondence services, parcels and express mail, as well as electricity, water and gas bill payment, postal savings services, and landline bill payment.

    During the opening ceremony, Talaat stated that Egypt Post is witnessing a great development, becoming one of the outlets for providing Digital Egypt services, given the citizensí trust in it and the spread of postal services centers nationwide. Egypt Post was developed in terms of appearance and services, said the ICT Minister, adding that a plan is implemented to expand post offices to spread widely, reducing congestion and helping citizens.

    Talaat said that 816 post offices were automated and developed, and that 782 offices are to be developed by the end of the current fiscal year, at a total cost of EGP 3.2 billion.

    The government attaches great priority to developing ENPO personnelís skills in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of services, facilitating government transactions and creating a system that helps render excellent services to Egyptian citizen, added the ICT Minister.

    For his part, Farouk said that opening the postal services centers comes within the framework of Egypt Postís comprehensive strategic plan that aims to revolutionize the quality of services rendered to citizens.

    Post offices have become an outlet for providing electronic government services, as they were developed and transformed into integrated postal services centers, said Farouk. He added that the offices were equipped with the latest systems and advanced technological solutions, enabling citizens to obtain notarization services, pay traffic fines, obtain clearance certificates and pay electricity, water and gas bills, in addition to Egypt Post financial and postal services.
