ICT Minister Meets Infor CEO to Discuss Investment Plans

    Cairo, 3 May 2017
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser ElKady has met with Charles Phillips, CEO of Infor— a global provider of smart business solutions— to discuss the company's ICT business plans in Egypt. The meeting was attended by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) CEO Asmaa Hosni, and officials of ITIDA, and Infor-IMEA region.

During the meeting, Phillips said that availability of technical staff, supportive business environment, sustainable growth of the ICT sector and the ongoing economic reforms are among reasons for selecting Egypt as a new destination for Infor offices.

In this context, ElKady discussed efforts employed by the State to enable calibers and help them compete in international markets, underscoring their advanced technological skills. He highlighted the role of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and its affiliates in implementing a number of initiatives and projects, and in cooperating with a number of universities to provide calibers, thereby meeting requirements of companies investing in Egypt and offering excellent job opportunities. The ICT Minister pointed out to the incentives offered to investors in technology parks, referring to contracts signed with several global companies and factories interested in taking advantage of these opportunities.

Infor CEO visit comes in response to the ICT Minister’s invitation during his meetings with the company's officials, during March in New York, where the first round of talks was held. Infor is a global provider of software and technology applications for enterprises; it employs 15,000 developers and employees in 41 countries and has 90,000 customers worldwide.
