Minister of Communications and IT Dr. Tarek Kamel left Cairo Wednesday heading for Davos to participate in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting held from 24-28 January.
Kamel is a member in the official delegation led by Premier Dr. Ahmed Nazif representing Egypt in the meeting.
Kamel will contribute to a session on ICT companies working on education, presenting the latest developments of the Egyptian Education Initiative (EEI). EEI is implemented in cooperation with Egyptian and international companies.
Kamel will also take part in a session on the ICT for Health Initiative. The initiative aims to develop the health sector via the effective ICT usage.
Egypt has started transferring this model to other Arab states in collaboration with the Arab Business Council (ABC) of the World Economic Forum.
Meanwhile, Kamel is due to meet leaders of international companies operating in ICT and other industries including Cisco Systems, Microsoft Corp., Vodafone and others.
